Music is a Gift
Music is the lubricant that opens the mind and allows a message to echo over and over within your heart. By the Creator’s design, our minds become more fully alive in the presence of music. Our bodies move to the cadence as the separate tones of the melody vibrate deep within the nucleus of our subliminal self.Music has been part of the spiritual society for centuries. From early prehistoric man to present day civilization, music has been an integral part of the religious and spiritual community. Early shamans used the simple beat of a drum to bring about a focus to their ceremonies. Today, modern churches have choirs, or piped in music, to bring the people together in harmony.
Finding peace within our hearts is much easier to achieve if we can listen to a piece of music that strikes a kindred note within our body. When performing your meditations, or saying your prayers, listening to a soft instrumental piece of music with low vibrating tones will help you in finding your inner harmony.
To those of you who say there is no link between music and the inner workings of the human mind, think of all the advertisements you have heard on the television or the radio. The commercial with background music that is pleasing to your ear is much easier to remember. Who has not heard a song on the radio only to have the stray bit of music float around in your mind all day, intermingling with the thoughts of your day?
Music is a catalyst in opening our awareness to a power greater than our own. The ability to use music to bring a message to others, or to ourselves, is indeed a gift that gives pleasure over and over. So take advantage of this gift and utilize music in your every day life to bring about a peace of the spirit, or to enliven your existence with joy.
